Seniors Transitioning to Their Next Home

This class is for both senior adults and their adult children as they consider housing options that provide both independent living along with a vibrant social community as well as accommodations for future care needs. We will discuss the senior housing options in Hudson, and how to wrap your head around the process of downsizing and moving to a smaller home.

This class focuses on two common situations:

• Seniors who are independently seeking to transition into their next home 
• Adult children who are helping to guide their senior parents in their move to their new home

Seniors Independently Transitioning to their Next Home – Fear often holds seniors back from making a move, but a recent study stated that once they moved, 76+% were satisfied with their new living arrangement. This class will remove the fear of selling and moving from a cherished and long-term home to their next home. The course will simplify and explain the steps needed to prepare a home for the market in today’s world (it’s very different today than when most seniors purchased their home), the home selling process, & finding your next home and actually moving in. We will also discuss how to time your moving process so you can smoothly move from one home to the next without incurring additional costs for temporary housing while you wait for your next home to become available.

Adult Children Helping to Guide their Parents to their Next Home – It is a difficult subject to discuss, and one that many families avoid. But adult children often find themselves in a situation where they need to assist their senior parents as they transition into a housing situation that provides a better fit for their health and safety needs. We will cover how to approach the subject with parents, provide advice and resources on steps needed to make the move, local housing options to meet their needs for health, security, social life, and professional services from local providers to help them as their lifestyle needs evolve. We will discuss Senior Living options in Hudson, WI and River Falls, WI and the lifestyle choices available for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and more.
